Stockholm Fashion Week®

Stockholm Fashion Week, a cornerstone of the Swedish fashion calendar, held during a time of year as decided by the Member Brands. STHLMFW provides a vital platform for Swedish designers to present their work to an international audience of fashion experts, buyers, and media.

The week is structured around its Official Calendar, which includes a diverse range of fashion shows and presentations. This calendar is meticulously curated to highlight the innovative and sustainable design ethos that Swedish fashion is renowned for, reflecting Swedens status as the bedrock of Scandinavian style and creativity.

The Official Calendar is composed of fashion houses and designers who are either members of the Association of Swedish Fashion Brands (ASFB) or selected guest designers and brands. Participation is determined by a dedicated committee that evaluates applications each season, ensuring a dynamic mix of established labels and fresh talent.

The selection criteria focuses on the creative potential, sustainability practices, and international reach of the applicant brands. The committee, composed of industry professionals, journalists, and international buyers, reviews each submission with these factors in mind, aiming to foster diversity and innovation in the lineup.

In response to evolving global trends and the increasing importance of digital media, Stockholm Fashion Week incorporates both physical and digital presentations. The hybrid format allows for greater accessibility and visibility for participating designers, ensuring that their collections reach a wider audience.

The digital platform features live streams of runway shows, virtual showrooms, and interactive content that enables designers to showcase their creative narratives. Strategic partnerships with international media outlets amplify the reach and impact of the collections, enhancing Stockholm's influence on the global fashion stage.

The ASFB is dedicated to promoting ethical fashion practices, as outlined on the Mission page. This commitment is reflected in the policies and initiatives undertaken during Stockholm Fashion Week. Designers are encouraged to adopt sustainable materials, ethical production methods, and fair labor practices, aligning with ASFB's vision for a responsible and transparent fashion industry.

Furthermore, Stockholm Fashion Week promotes a Social and Environmental Responsibility policy that emphasises sustainable practices across the fashion value chain. This includes initiatives to reduce waste, optimise resource use, and ensure ethical labor practices. Sustainable mobility solutions are also prioritised, with a fleet of electric vehicles available for transporting guests and participants.

The impact of Stockholm Fashion Week extends beyond the runway. It serves as a catalyst for innovation and collaboration within the fashion industry, encouraging designers to explore new materials, techniques, and business models. The event fosters connections between designers, buyers, and media, driving the global recognition of Swedish fashion.

By participating in Stockholm Fashion Week, designers gain invaluable exposure and the opportunity to engage with industry leaders and trendsetters. The event's emphasis on sustainability and creativity aligns with the evolving demands of conscious consumers, positioning Swedish fashion as a leader in the global movement towards a more responsible and innovative fashion industry.
